Cool but I've thought it might work even better if they were writing clever things on those signs which might sway the viewer into putting pressure on the TV networks.

It's very cute, but I can't help noticing the apostrophe is in the wrong place!!  It's more than one writer on strike, so it should be writers' strike.

They have nothing to say because they are stiking for nothing.  It will take them 20 years to regains what they have lost by the stike so far. The only ones who win with this strike (and most others) are the union bosses, they lose nothing and always get a raise when the strike is settled.
