I don't even belong to the NRA, but I consider this cartoon an insult to them, and a serious disrespect to Mr. Heston and his family.

A very narrow minded view of a great American who championed civil rights for both those on the left and the right, even if it was not popular at the particular moment in time.

I am a gun-control advocate and nonetheless detest this cartoon. What an insult!

I think this drawing is very disrespectful to the memory of Mr. Heston himself, and would be very upsetting to the family who is grieving his loss. Mr. Heston was of the same generation as my father, who left a leg on Iwo Jima in February of 1945. This generation of men had shed blood in defense of the rights guaranteed Americans in the U.S. Constitution. Mr. Heston simply exercised his right to free speech, speaking out in defense of, among others, every American's 2nd Amendment Right, the right to keep and bear arms. Does someone speaking up for what they believe in during their lifetime warrent humiliation and disrespect from the media after they're dead? I hope Thomas Jefferson jumps up and snatches bald-headed the person who drew this very cold-hearted and cruel illustration.
