With Lott's retirement, is that hair piece

up for sale?

Posted By: Ted Holcomb  on Friday, November 30, 2007

He won't be missed by anyone. It's not a hair piece, it's a helmet.

Who's Trent Lott?  Oh, yeah, I think I remember......

Posted By: Tom Losiniecki  on Friday, November 30, 2007

While I agree with the sentiment, I have to call Mr. Cagle on reusing the almost exact same carton as he issued when Tom Delay "stepped down".  I know there is a great deal of automation going on in today's work place but automatic cartoons? ;-)

Cagle ... when are you going to start a website that will, a few times a week, give us a wide range of topical-of-the-day, national and international (at times) cartoons ... you know, like you used to have and share not so long ago?  please keep in mind that if print opinion pieces is all we needed, or enjoyed, you would not have gotten this far, by far.  Thank you for your valuable time and service.

"Foghorn Leghorn has left the building."

Is he trying to show us that he is one of the best politicians that money can buy?

Posted By: Roger Spears  on Friday, November 30, 2007

Kind of makes you wonder why he got into politics in the first place.

Posted By: Ken Kolk  on Friday, November 30, 2007

Sure looks to me that he is quitting so he can avoid the new ethic's rules and to avoid the growing scandals about his war on All-State and other insurance companies follow Katrina. Looking at all the Thugs (opps Republicans) jumping ship this fall all I can think about is the old "rats leaving the ship" idea. Here on Lake Michigan we remember that about 100 years ago the rats left the famous Christmas Tree Ship that sailed from Manistique to Chicago every November loaded with trees to sell there. One year the rats left the ship while they were loading it. It sunk with all hands off Milwaukee. Maybe these Compassionate Conservatives are seeing that the Republican Ship is doomed.

it is time for trent to go out to  the private sector to collect the bribes he did the work for  in the form of sweetheart contracts for his 'friends".

ronnie r was paid millions by the japanese to go and talk a bit after he left the white house.

When Trent Lott's exit evokes nostalgia for when there was decency and honor in Rebublician politics....hoo boy!

Me thinks the boy is leavin while the gettin is good!

Posted By: Gloria M Row  on Friday, November 30, 2007

Is it true that Trent Lott resigned so that he could be a lobbyist as soon as Bush is defeated?  Cool system, huh?  When can we get rid of lobbyists?

Posted By: ROLAW  on Friday, November 30, 2007

echo: "rats leaving ship." yup.

just waiting for scott mcclellan reactions

It is not so much that the pedestal flipped over as much as Trent Lott fell off the pedestal (or maybe leaped off). Of course that is everywhere but in Mississippi. Mark my words, in the coming months,at least from the Mississippi point of view, the "fault" for Lott's early departure will stem from Washington and not from anything that Lott bears responsibility. Those that can do no wrong in Mississippi seldom ever...do wrong that is.
