Inappropriate. Maybe it's a new idea to some, but MOST people do wear underwear. And just like Romney, MANY people cover their underwear with appropriate clothing.

Why should the underwear that Mr. Romney uses be of any interest to anyone? I'm not a Mormon and I know that the men wear special underwear, so what?
Posted By: Looken on Tuesday, December 11, 2007
I don't get it either. Whether or not Romney wears special underwear is not something that would be of interest to me. Even if I DID know that Mormons wore special shorts...who cares?Long as he isn't wearing a turban.

Romney is probably a good man; however, the "underwear" in question comes from sacred ceremonies in the Mormon Church. Romney has admitted he wears it. I've read books about Mormons and their sacred ceremonies, and the blessed underwear is only a tiny part of it.The larger question here is not about the Mormon religion, which is right up there with Jehovah's Witnesses as being one of the craziest. We should not mix anyone's personal religion with politics, nor should it be proclaimed. Many of us do not believe in God or a god. We do not care what religion a candidate is as long as she/he is qualified to run our country. You have Dumya who says God speaks to him. If so, why didn't he tell him bombing Iraq and killing 4,000 Americans and half a million innocent Iraq's, was WRONG?

Mormons wear the underwear in the temple for religious reasons, no big deal, a little weird but we all have our things that are weird. Hearing God on the other hand is a very big deal. If God is leading, then someday, on earth or after, all will understand. I think Iraq is a great example, someday President Bush will get the respect and thanks he deserves for doing the right thing. We live in a broken world and the lesser of 2 evils often rules the day. Many in Iraq are SO thankful for us. Ask a soldier who has been there a couple times and has asked the locals. War stinks, hate stinks, evil stinks, but freedom isn't free. Sacrifice is required. Americans should know that better then anyone, if we study our history. GOD BLESS AMERICA! GOD BLESS YOU! and someday His Blessing will be complete and we will totally understand. Go MN VIKINGS!

Obviously Bobbi Leonard has never spoken to any Mormons or their missionaries. They're church isn't crazy at all and it's nothing like the Jehovah's Witnesses. I think someone is listening to too much fantasy fiction about them. I do think it strange that the world will get up in arms about a drawing of Muhammad but we don't blink an eye when it comes to making fun and taking lightly what other people find sacred. Sounds a little hypocritical if you ask me. We don't allow racism and bigotry in general because it is taking lightly what others feel is important, why do jokes about religion get a free pass when our beliefs are often what we hold most sacred?

I am an active, faithful, temple-going member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. That means I wear the sacred undergarments you're referring to in your Mitt Romney cartoon. These garments are sacred to us and perhaps that's why you haven't had any comments from Mormons. We believe the garments are a symbolic representation of sacred covenants we make with God when we attend the temple. Those covenants are essentially our profound commitment to serve and obey God. They are decent, charitable covenants; these covenants are holy, sacred commitments and that's why we don't specifically discuss them (even with other faithful Mormons)outside of the temple. I enjoyed the humor in your cartoon and can understand your curiosity and vantage point. But from my vantage point, temple garments are sacred. I respect them because I respect and love God. Please don't be offended if I tease you and invite you to learn more and listen to the missionaries! That's a sincere invitation--even though I am teasing you in my way with that invitation. I have a sense of humor, too. I enjoy your cartoons. Your cartoon was your way of teasing the Mormons and Mitt Romney. We can handle that and smile with you, even as we reverence the Lord and keep our sacred covenants with Him.

I Love it!!!But in Utah they all look like that, women too! Most anyway!Ahhhhaaa!!
Oh you people chill out, you came here to read the jokes, so you found one that didn,t sit well with you! Not all people are as prudish as others!Ya know you want to laugh!! Ahhahah!

A Mormon will not discuss their magic underwear with non-Mormons. Asking them about it is almost seen as an insult. Personally, I don't think Romney would be considered a "good" Mormon anyway...

Since your a funny man, I assumed that you would in turn, would enjoy a cartoon yourself. But your "Comments" don't allow a cartoon to be sent to you. So I'll give you the directions to find the cartoon for yourself. Go to Kaizen-Wikipedia and look up the subject of Porter Rockwell. At the bottom of the page on Mr. Rockwell, look under "The Life & Legacy of Orrin Porter Rockwell". The site has a cartoon section about Mr. Rockwell that I'm sure you would enjoy looking at at. My favorite cartoon shows a Mormon family being assalted in the(1838 to 1850 era) & in the doorway stands- Guess Who? The caption reads: "Oh no...Porter Rockwell is their hometeacher!" I don't think Mitt Romney's underwear is funny in any way, shape or form. But since you have shown that you can dish it out. Let's see if you can take it??? Have a nice day.

Okay...I'll bite (comment). Mormons wear sacred white underwear. Does that make their children immaculate conceptions? Just asking.

Why do people make comments on things they don't understand? Even though the Mormon religion is not for me personally, I was raisedin a Mormon community. My family was and still are Mormons and havingparents that were married in the Manti temple I am well acquainted withthe "funny underwear" they wear but NOT for the reason they wear them, I never wore them but then I wasn't married in the temple.

Maybe people envisioned one of the star quaterbacks of the San Francisco 49er who was of the same religion and allowed himself to be photgraphed in the same underware that he wore, also while playing foorball.

This is as despicable as they come. I am not a Mormon but I know religious bigotry or any kind of intolerance when I see it. My pigmentation or lack thereof has often made me the butt of jokes. Many of those “jokes” hurt, intended or not, I being the recipient still feels the sting. Daryl Cagle, you rank up there with the likes of David Duke, Neo Nazis and Lawrence O’Donnell, Jr. One’s religion should not be made fun of. This sudden rise of bigotry against Mormons should be repudiated in all forms. It is not funny and so are jokes against people with albinism. Please take your vile cartoon down and if you have any decency left, you may find it necessary to apologize.

Maybe no one commented because his underwear just looks like ordinary underwear!

I'm not interested in hius underwear. I need to know what direction he'll take the country, stop people from disliking/resenting us. Strive for peace in the world. Keep a safety net in place for those of us who are less fortunate. Positive plans for a better life for out youth and our old people. Work on stopping the bigotry and hate crime. His lifestyle is different from the majority of religious nuts as is the lifestyle of GLBT people. There is room for all of us. We serve no purpose by being so mean spirited.

As a strict believer in separation of church and state, I do not believe anyone should be judged fit for political office on their religious beliefs. As Dubya has proven, when you elect idiots, you will get leaders who are too stupid to due their duties as prescribed in the Constitution and tend to believe the rest of us are as stupid as they are.It is not Romney’s religion that is in question; it is the fact that I do not want a fool who believes in “magic underwear” running this country. I find it interesting that the Dubya camp seems to be migrating to “Mit”, It must be some weird attraction to those with dumb nicknames. I guess those in positions of authority and power thinks it makes them sound more like normal people, with which they share so much…..NOT!Maybe we need a new f
