Linda Chavez is right: Do we really have to make this appear like it's more important than the Iraq War, the health care crisis, the impending recession, etc. If elected officials put just a fraction of their time and thoughtful scrutiny to important matters, maybe we wouldn't be in such a pickle. Watching them on TV brings back nightmares of their despicable behaviour during the Clarence Thomas hearings. Even if you hated Clarence Thomas, you hated the committee even more!!

That is pretty low!  But sort of in Roger's defense from a long-time Red Sox fan, he has always had his problems with the spoken word even on a good day!
