I like this website because some fine work of the cartoonist around the world is available to have a realistic ( all of a sudden) laugh. This is one of that. cartoonist steal a moment from the real problem bring one to a laugh that I think is the success and praise for him.

Though wonderfully illustrated the cartoon does lttle for me.  Naturally anyone would be welcomed at the cross.  People are all to soon to judge the one with the contracts and conclude that it's now acceptable not to honor the other one's commitments when trouble arises.  It's done with marrage all the time.  I promise to love, honor, and cherious until death due us part, unless I grow tired of the situation and want out. I had that choice when I purchased my home as I opted for a fixed rate. I'm not cold hearted but bad decisions result it bad results.

The cartoon left me cold (or sarcastic).  It doesn't work.  While on first glance it is good for a laugh, it goes stone cold.  Conmbining two very dispart bits doesn't work.  The religious theme, if held to its basic "law," always welcomes, so the point of the cartoon is lost.

On the other hand if the foreclosed family looking for help, was at the white (un)house entrance with a fuming "butler" barring their way, and food and music flowing out the windows along with at leat one demopublican - Than we have a good (if twisted) point!!

Notice that the paper in the man's hand doesn't say Eviction (as from rental property).  It says Foreclosure (as from you didn't pay your mortgage.  Why are we supposed to feel sorry and heart-string strung because people are dumb enough to buy houses they couldn't/can't afford.  I'm sorry, but God said He would help those who help themselves.  Not those who expect the rest of us to help them out of their own jams.

To me, juxtaposing a family bereft of a home with the nativity is superb. Jesus was born in circumstances beyond the control of his parents: outrageous taxes, an oppressive government so burdensome to Israel's economy that fulfilling basic needs was beyond an average family's means. (Joseph's profession, carpenter, was a respectable one 2,000 years ago.) If our nation's families can't afford their own small homes, are the nation's priorities in order?

Well, that is about right.  The "Administration + Congress" seems to be taking care of Corporate America but not the citizens, especially those who have been duped by Mortgage providers.  As for those who knowingly signed contracts that were way beyond their reasonable means, both they and the lenders should be held responsible.

Why was it that not too many years ago you couldnt get a lone with a "GOOD" credit rating yet lately you didnt even need a rating at all?

Sorry but I don't see any humor in this. People buys things that they can't afford all the time. When you can't pay you lose. that's the way it's always been. They should have bought a house they could afford I did.  It's small but it's all I could afford and I still have it.

I don't find any humor in anything degrading or making a joke of spiritual things.  Mind you I didn't say religious things.  That is two different words.  God is an awesome, powerful God.  I would have a holy fear of what He could do to me if I even laugh at the mockery.  God is not to be taken lightly and He is to be worshiped and adored.  If you want an example prayer was taken out of school and look what happened to Madeline O'Hare.  She wound up in a barrell. God is a loving God and warns us what He can do when people make a mockery of Him.

The continuing efforts of those who would diminish or dismiss the essence of Christmas or try to invoke so many changes in eliminating the word Christmas and/or any references or displays concerning this extremely holy day among the world's Christians, is simply not in context with either the emergence of this great nation in 1776 as a free, God-fearing and truly democratic society.

Why others come to these shores and in a relatively short time, begin to denigrate the United States of America and all it stands for, is just beyond reason.

I am a first generation American, born in this country from parents who were both born and raised in Scotland. My father became a naturalized citizen in the 1940's and foreswore any alligence or alignment with his parent country. My mother remained a British subject throughout her life, but not because she found anything wrong with America. In her case, it was just that she saw no urgency to changing citizenship since she dearly loved both this country and her own native land.

As the second of four children, I joined the U.S. Navy at age 16 and was sent off to the Korean War, still in progress. Ultimately, I spent the next 48 & 1/2 years in the military service of this great nation.

My older brother entered the U.S. Air Force and my younger brother also joined the U.S. Navy. The remaining sibling, our sister, was not in service but was also a dedicated and loyal American, embracing openly all the tenets of freedom, democracy, respect for others and dedication to the principles we were taught as children concerning support for America.

Now this frontal attack on the traditions of Christmas; even though this holiday may have taken more of a flavor of one religion over another, is attempting to diminish or extinguish the light of true Christian faith.

Certainly there are other religions; all deserve to be honored by those who believe in them. Certainly there are atheists and other non-religious people or groups, they also have a right to their own freedom of choice and that, in turn, can be respected by all.

But nowhere, for absolutely no reason whatsoever, should any single person, group, religion or belief attempt to change the basic premises of the establishment of the very principles that this country was founded on over 230 years ago.

Keep the wishes, warmth and respect of the word Christmas. Keep the greeting "Merry Christmas". Keep the strength and decency we, as Americans, have long enjoyed.

Let those who are dedicated to change return to their places of birth or, if native born, recall and accept that the United States of American is and always will be founded on the basis of "In God We Trust"

Great Cartoon, but highly improbable.  Of course you know why Christ could not be born in WDC?  WDC lacks the requisite three wise men and a virgin.  But certainly it is over run with sheep.

I thought this was quite appropriate for the Xmas season.  With all respect to some of the comments, people are given the gift of forgiveness, according to Christian doctrine.  I think that is the whole point of celebrating this day.
