I think it's a shame that one or two states determine the outcome of our presidential election. The economies of Iowa and New Hampshire are the only real winners -- the losers are the voters from the other 48 states -- their votes don't count.

This illustrates very well what is wrong with our country today. People are too lazy to keep themselves informed about the issues. Instead, they rely on someone else to tell them how to vote. Then they ignorantly whine, "Why don't somebody do something?" If we had as many people who were as passionate about saving our country as those trying to destroy it, they would get off their butts and vote. An uninformed vote is almost as bad as not voting. That's my rant for today. Great cartoon. Happy New Year!Ed

I live in rural California and I can not understand what is so important about how the people in Iowa vote. The state is not a good representation of the U.S. A lot of white conservative farmers. Cal., NY., or Fla. are states that contain a more diverse population, and would more accurately reflect the country's feelings on current issues.

These people are playing the pollsters and the Media, every day the lead swings in the polls. These farmers are not hicks. They keep pollsters and reporters spending big buks in Iowa.

It is unfortunate that Iowa and New Hampshire have such great influence on Presidential elections. That is no reflection on the good people of those states, just that the media declares the election over after those two states nominate their preferences. We have the same situation in the U.S.Congress and Senate. I HATE the word POWER used to describe a Senator of Congressman. "He is the most powerful man in the Senate"!!!There should not be anyone in the Congress who has any more power than anyone else. Each one should have one vote and unable to hold a vote over any others head and NO ONE should be able to keep a bill or appointment from being voted on. As far as this election goes, after February 5th, it is all over for the primary. Congress should make the Primary election the same day everywhere, as in the general election.

These interminable primaries, etc., make me long for the good old days of smoke-filled rooms and conventions that meant something.

This cartoon only shows how little information it takes to influence people who do not read or follow the news. It is what you get when the only news you use is ont the three major TV networks plus CNN. Sad, sad, sad.
