Mike Keefe is dead on. Great cartoon, although it is sad to see truly how low these "true conservatives" have sunk. When you compare Abraham Lincoln to George W. Bush, or John McCain, there's really no comparison.

That's probably as accurate a depiction of the current state of radio in this country that I've seen. Of course the lack of "wit, intelligence and charm" isn't exclusive to talk radio (and not just conservative talk, either), but also carries over to much of the latest popular music. The original intent of this nation's broadcast laws were to insure that a real balance of views were heard on the nation's airwaves, which, by the way, were said the belong to the people, NOT the government in power. That forced multiple views on the air through the 'Equal Time" provisions of the law.Certainly Reagan was correct when he noted that the old law was out-dated, but most of the outdated portions had to do with technology issues, not viewpoints. Since the revisions to that law, a very few owners have become dominant and only their viewpoints, spewed forth with invective and bombast by Limbaugh and his clones, have become virtually the only ones heard ... because those are the viewpoints of the station owners (and they can sell it!).The only way we can correct this is by getting a revision of the current law that returns to the "equal time" standard. It may also require a new limitation as to how many stations one owner can have within a particular market. This country has thrived for over 200 years through civil political discourse, not lies, half-truths and undisguised editorial retoric from only those with a single viewpoint. A return to "equal time" on the nation's airwaves will assure all of us that more views, and not just those of billion-dollar corporations and their CEO's, are heard.

And the liberal media NEVER attacks, and seldom bothers to report the facts IF those facts do not support their postion......even to the point of fabricating facts..no wonder the print and screen medias rate right up there with used car salesman, lawyers, pols...
