How can we as Americans even consider participating in the Beijing Olympics? I guess our democratic convictions are only lip service. It is deplorable that we are planning to participate, and I for one will neither watch nor follow the games. We need to stand on principal.

Plaestinains get a lot of attention- bombs. army invasions and generally loss of any place to live at all.

The Chinese also have a disputed land claim but there is not exclusive chinese settlements, if there were the tibetans" howling like wolves" according to a canadian observer would not have killed with such ease. The Isrealis have large fences and automatic weapons and have built a large wall. I fact Tibet wants no chinese and now have killed some to show that- a bit racist. The Israelis want no palestinians and have killed to show that too.

The major difference here is that USA supports

a) China

b) Israel

Thanks Mike for this cartoon & your succinct comments on the China/Tibet issue. As a member of Free Tibet Campaign it is good to have support from as many people in different sectors - especially media - as posible. Cheers, Kalyi

Its a shame as educated as the total population is knowing that hamans are the ultimate resource on this planet in mind and and body why these resources should be compressed and destroyed ... what a waste to the world and to the intellgence of china itself. their is knowledge and value in every person and group of people

The Hell with Tibet and to Hell with all of these "goody-two shoes faux humanitarians (Americans take note)" which keep sticking their noses in other's affairs! Its China's business how they deal with internal issues and not the business of outsiders. The Olympics should be an event where the world's nations can come together without politics or special interests tainting the experience.

I find it ironic how most of these "protestors" going on about the rights of the Dahli Lamah and the fate of an obscure religion/country yet many of these protestors themselves don't believe in a god or religion.
