Thank you very much for the support - we Israelis are really frustrated from the entire situation. We're damned if we do, and sure as hell damned if we don't.

Your support means so much, at least we are not alone.

Take the call, Jimmy.

It's scary.  He's being naive to our detriment.

All though we all know that Jimmy Carter is not a buffoon as depicted, I still had a great laugh when reading this cartoon.  Keep on drawin'!!

Very sad that most American cartoonists are taking such an unhelpful view of the Carter initiative. President Carter is NOT suggesting that suicide bombers or missiles are the answer, nor is he exhibiting the naïveté suggested here and by many other cartoonists. Carter IS suggesting that one makes peace with enemies not friends, and that some enemies are quite nasty. He also is demonstrating that there is much more going on behind the scenes than we get from the very one-sided picture provided here in the United States.

Unfortunately, for years the US has been part of the problem when it could be a major part of the solution. Being pro-Israel need not mean blindly supporting all Israel policies, while turning our backs on the plight of the Palestinians (who overwhelmingly support peace with Israel). Let’s start taking a more helpful role – both in our media and our government!

In response to MICHAEL,  couldn't have said it better.   Finally someone who knows how to think clearly.  The man is trying to make PEACE for crying out loud!  Unbelievably we don't need to use weapons to achieve that - what a strange concept, huh?  Perhaps if more world leaders were like Mr. Carter, we wouldn't have half the shit going on in this world that we do.

Although I, as others do, think that Carter is trying to make peace between Palestine and Israel, I still got a kick out of this cartoon.

The funniest editorial cartoon I have seen in ages!

Mr. Carter's idealism is commendable (to a point), but just like during his presidency he condemns his ideals to irrelevancy with his mind-boggling naiveté.  Unbelievable.

Few of us supporters of Isreal like the idea of dealing with those who seek their (and our) destruction. However, the cold hard brutal reality is that unless we and Isreal are willing to live within the nightmare of an unending cycle of violence, eventually, at some point we must sit down across the table with our enemies in some kind of forum and find the compromises and resolutions that will bring us the best chance for a real and truly lasting peace. However distasteful to us, Carter is actually on to something that is quite profound. Given that all our efforts thus far have left Isreal in as grave a situation as ever, we must find a new way to communicate. We must find a new paradigm for dealing with this vastly complex and vexing problem. And, it is this hard reality that I believe has inspired President Carter to so courageously come to the realization that something new must be tried - even if it means acting and taking risks previously unacceptable or unimaginable to our way of thinking. Although I am uncertain myself, it is possible that he may be the only major political figure out there today who has fully understood and accepted this very controversial concept. I am afraid, but, at the same time very encouraged, that he just may be right. Lets hope, for all our sake, that he is.
