He's a kind man, I have heard of it.

Why do you make a fool of him?

Posted By: Dauric  on Thursday, April 17, 2008

It's not the pope who's being made fun of here, it's the Washington political culture.

What would you get if the Pope met with the govenor of California?

Benedict Arnold

The Catholic Religion has a long way to go before just a Papal visit will make a difference. The Church depends largely now on the elderly and immigrants. While only small numbers of priests have been brought forward there are graves of priests who have damaged children prior to their deaths. Only God knows how many. I believe as long as a Religion uses fear to maintain it's flock sooner or later it will get caught up in it's demise. People are smarter today than ever before. We are no longer cave men who look at lightning and thunder having to explain it as God's anger. You may be asking am I an atheist. No my God is not a punishing God. I watch all these Priests, Preachers, Ministers on the TV nowadays and get sick to my stomach. They preach an open gate to hell if man does this and that, while they are more active in these so called sins than non leaders. Then they drive away in limos that the flock has paid for.

I echo the previous poster, it is not the Pope being made fun of here.  One cartoon I would have liked to have seen was the Pope's reaction to the five catholics that upheld lethal injection as a form of execution.

That announcment was made the same day of the Popes arival, hey Pope, welcome to America, look what we just did.

NATE'S cartoon is VIPERINE! Phil Brennam's comments shown below the cartoon are more deserving for the Pope's first visit to USA.

Washington fools may very well be the subject but disrespect is not humorous.  A suitable focus on fools is not hard to locate.

Wow:

now if the pope would have preformed a mirical, say like placing a brain in the empty heads of Bush and Chenny that would have benn the greatest

Jim - looks like you need a brain also. Perhaps it would help you spell better.

Great Cartoon!
