I am hispanic but NOT MEXICAN. Let's send Mexican back to Mexico. We do not need them at all. They do not pay taxes and they are abusing the Welfare System. In Latin American (execpt Mexico) We do not like Mexican at all.

It is almost impossible to respond to that kind of ignoracy unfazed. We are ALL Latin Americans- coming from a similar background and history, and are fighting the same struggle. Please do not pretend to speak for every Latin  American immigrant out there. As a young (educated) Latina, I understand that at the end of the day, we all have the same needs and need to make a living with an honest day's work. As if by sending the "Mexican back to Mexico", we would fix the real problems at hand.

They are just like you and me. They work hard for what they have and in return you treat them like dirt. They desevre much more credit then what we give them. As being a young "educated Chincano" I understand were they are comming from!!!

Dear Monica,

  Perhaps you should consider:

- that a vast influx of cheap labor has driven the wages down, down, and down for the last 30 years.

- The crime rate in and around Lation neighborhoods.  OMG I forgot the gangs, always a good selling point.  As a cop these are things I deal with every day.

- Gather in groups at convience stores, parking lots, etc. and give everyone "the look".  Perfect way to ensure a negative reaction from everyone who sees or has to pass by your 'homeboys'.  

- Don't forget that 'tagging' every surface that can be reached is always greatly appreciated by every store and property owner.  After all they look so much better after they have been so artfully decorated.

- Always turn your house into a mini fort.  Love the way it makes a housing track look like Hell.

  If you want 'people' to treat you with a greater degree of respect.  Earn it. Deal with this aspect of your "National Heritage"?  Oops, I forgot the current chant is that everyone should change to accomadate the latino's.



FYI- Why more and more Americans are angry about the torrents of illegals.  The effect on wages and foolish amount of money spent having to run parrel systems in Spanish.  By the way what Latin American country does this?



  Example: resturants, building maint., lawn care, the mfg. and delivery industries to name a few.  1976 few if any Latino's ... today don't bother applying if your not a latino and you can't work with them if you don't speak Mexican.  The wages are poor and because there is a seemly unending supply of people that will work for min. wage (from Mexico and Latin America and the Carib. Islands) instead of a decent wage they are poverty level wages.



  But what really gets Americans angry?  People protesting that they are not getting enough of the pie because they are being picked on (Example: UCI students on scholarships, nearly every Latino protest.).  All the while waving a ... yup, you guessed it.  A Mexican flag.



So if one desires to treated with 'respect' it has to be earned.  Have respect for other people and their rights and property, lose 'the look', deal with the gangs, lose the 'attitude' and remember your not in whatever Country you (or your parents) were born in anymore.  Your in America now.  There was a reason you or your parents moved here and a 'job' is not the whole answer.

If you are here legally and with proof, working at a legitimate job and

Mexico has a failing economy, so terribly much so that the Mexican government has enacted policies that encourage it's citizens to cross the border in to the U.S. to get work.



Fine, whatever, here's your slave-wage job. Would you like that with or without regular lashings? For only 99 cents more we can super-size your burden.



However, do not expect good results from demanding that the United States become more like Mexico. The culture and politics of Mexico have failed to produce or maintain wealth for the people despite the abundant resources available to that nation. To attempt to convert the culture and government of the United States that has successfully produced wealth in to that of a failed state is to not only invite the ire of U.S. citizens but to bring the economic failure of Mexico to the United States. If the United States succumbs to the complete poverty of Mexico, where will the illegal immigrants migrate for their employment? It behooves the Mexican nationals to preserve the United States' way of life to support the way that they and their government have chosen to use their northern neighbor.

ummm yea to all you haters...mexico does not deserve to be poked at. I mean all you "Americans" consume or have some possesion of something from Mexico! Who makes it? MEXICANS! And FYI if you think you are American you should know that your ancestors have come from other places and were mixed. That doesnt make you pure american now does it? And the United States isnt doing so well so you dont have to complain. It is everyone's fault that United Staes is turning all "bad." not just mexicans. And to whoever said you have to earn respect, i dont think you deserve it since you talk trash about other people! And Kenny, i dont think you come purely from this land stupid so dont talk. Immigrating is a common human thing and if you think its wrong well then you probably shouldnt be living. I mean to all those criminals and haters. Tom, you probably didnt know but americans are responsible for 54% of the crimes. Guess what? Hispanics have only 15% of the crimes! Mexicans do most of the jobs you "Americans" wont do because your too clean to get dirty and work to sustain yourself.

I'm sorry, did you say speak "mexican" in your post??? And you say you're "american". What country were you raised in? The correct term,just for YOUR information is "spanish". Just like you don't speak "american",you speak "english". If you want people to respect and listen to your comments,then you need to speak appropriately. I also noticed that you claim to be a police officer. If this is true I am deeply ashamed and troubled that you have been hired to serve and protect, not only whites, but brown skinned people as well. The ONLY "americans" that can truly claim the American heritage is Native Americans,which in some parts of this country, were from Mexico.Where are your ancestors from? Probably Europe,or some other place. Don't you think this country has a lot of problems, including illegal immigration, that could be better solved if we could work together, not divided. This is what makes our country great!!!!!!!!!

I just can't believe that mexicans are so hated even by other latinos is very sad. Can we all just get along and work together to make this country a better place for all human beings. Other countries are having bigger problems like HUNGER and here we are bashing each other? Please people get a life and do something good for those who most need it!
