Your work is great, but this cartoon is wrongheaded and shows the ignorance behind the Feds denying the use of marijuana to those in medical need of it.It is especially heart breaking for me to see someone who could use their talent and influence to help break down that barrier. My son has AIDS, and the only thing that helps him eat and get past the pain is marijuana. The police busted his house the other day. Just what an AIDS victim needs, eh? His perscriptions and marijuana has kept him alve now since his origianl diagnosis of being HIV+ in 1981.Please consider using your wonderful talent to help lessen AIDS and cancer patient's pain, rather than adding to it.

I'd agree with Norah on this one, 100%. It's really sad to see the immature and out of touch stereotype "pot head" image shown here when by now it's hard to find someone who hasn't had a friend, relative, co-worker derive valuable treatment from medically prescribed THC. The evidence is overwelming....it works. What more proof do we need? Countless studies have confirmed it. As someone who suffered through literally countless spinal operations and lived through almost unspeakable pain for years, I can tell you that it's no joke. Depriving a portion of our population from relief to satisfy a twisted, disproven, antiquated prejudice is shameful.

I think your cartoon misrepresents the issue. I realize that a comic is supposed to get a laugh, but just because doctors choose to prescribe marijuana does not mean that they, themselves, use it (as the red eyes depict). Marijuana IS a remedy for pain (and other medical/biological issues) and you would do well to represent the REAL issue, i.e. Government interference in doctor/patient confidentiality and care.

Hey Pinhead! I sure hope you don't get a nose bleed in that ivory tower you live in! KEEP YOUR WORDS SWEET FOOL, FOR ONE DAY YOU MAY HAVE TO EAT THEM!

Marijuana doesn't suppress pain better than morphine, so don't let the potheads fool you. The Dems are destroying our economy; Bush vetoes a few of their out-of-controld spending bills, but Obama will be the kiss of death. If he legalizes marijuana, I guess we won't have gasoline, or a job, but we'll be able to get stoned and ponder the decline of the once great America. Better yet. You can be in a restaurant, and some guy who has AIDS will be getting everybody in the restaurant stoned; won't that be nice. wolfpack@swcp.com
