Good column.  And, like the sub-prime mortgage debacle, who could have seen Obama's current behavior coming?  (Yes, I mean anyone who was looking.)  Obama was the great liberal when up against Hillary Clinton because that gave him the advantage of being loved and embraced by the media, who can afford to be liberal without being realistic -- which is just the way I think the media should be.  But those of us who exist in the real world generally learn that being purely liberal in practice is very hard to achieve unless you're independently wealthy.

Now Obama's endorsing the death penalty, which technically means that he thinks the current Supreme Court is too liberal.

Bottom line is that Obama wants to be president and is willing to do anything to achieve that.

Americans need to elect our president the same way we would fill a job vacancy.  Look at the resume, assess the character as best we can, then elect the person who we think can be the most effective in the job.

Personally, for me I never trust elected officials who want the job for the sake of having the job, as opposed to wanting the DO the job.

George W. Bush is a guy who wanted the job just for the sake of having the job -- and look what he's done to us.
